Something Gleams was the title of Rachelle Thiewes’ exhibit at the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts. The exhibit and the text in this publication greatly explain the influence of the desert in all of the artist’s creations throughout the years. Rachelle explained the source of the show’s title:

I’ve been familiar with Rachelle’s work for a long time, but to me, this revealed the thought process behind her latest work. I knew that clean lines and minimalism where important to the way she displayed her work, but this time, something else was more obvious. The shifts in color on her pieces can sometimes only be achieved under very specific lighting conditions, and even then it will be for a split second, as the piece moves with the wearer. On this publication it became important to have a mixture of bold color and quiet spaces to display her work on.
